The author approached me to redesign the cover of her new paranormal/fantasy novel, The Nights of Jeremiah. She wanted the cover to feature a fictional flower that played a major role in the story.
Capturing the Story's Theme in an Image
The author sent me an excerpt from the book that described the mood of the story, the main antagonist, and the unique appearance of the fictional flower.
She also sent me a mood board to work off of including dark yet dreamy images of forests, secluded cottages, and castles.
More Options to Consider
Once the author and I agreed on a concept for the cover, I created options for the cover design that centered around the concept of featuring the fictional flower and fire. I presented in a few different artistic styles.
